Thanks to this page on Romantic Asheville, I just found out that there's a German brewery out in Sylva. Sylva's about 45 from Asheville. The brewery is Heinzelmännchen and is owned by brewmaster Dieter Kuhn. Based on his pic, he looks like a guy who can brew (and enjoy!) a great beer!

I think next week we'll take a drive out there, and drink some of Dieter's favorites. Maybe we'll bring Apollo with us...

Stay tuned for an update. I'm really looking forward to checking out some these brews. I think my first will be the Weise Gnome Hefeweizen Style Ale. Oh yeah, and it won a bronze in the 2008 Carolina Championship of Beers! And maybe I'll bring home one of his 2-liter Growlers!
