I've yet to learn or try to brew my own beer, but I'm very interested in starting real soon. I know it's involved and takes lots of practice, but I'm a great cook, so hopefully I'll find that I have a knack for it.

I live in Asheville, NC, and there's a local brewery named Highland Brewery that makes great beer. Some of my favorites include the very popular Gaelic Ale, Oatmeal Porter, and a damn good seasonal Cattail Peak Wheat brew.

The brewery offers short tours of the facilities, and they'll also pour you samples. I began researching how I could book a tour, but to my surprise I found that even toys and action figures get a chance to tour the brewery--and drink the samples.
